SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ICE CREAM CATERING

We offer several different upgrades to our services. One upgrade that we are most proud of is our made-from-scratch Ice Cream catering. This ice cream has been developed over months and months of testing and testing and testing some more until we have the best recipe for that ice cream and then we are always continuing to make it better and better. We are never settled with “good enough”, we are always striving for the best made-from-scratch ice cream to offer on our mobile ice cream cart.

Because this ice cream is made from scratch from the folks at Rugged Coffee, you can rest assured knowing that the ice cream that we offer will be made with only real ingredients (nothing artificial is added) and that it will be of the best quality. We offer many different flavor options like our Vanilla ice cream, Chocolate ice cream, Caramel Ice Cream, Cookies and Cream ice cream, Chocolate Cookies and Cream ice cream, Matcha ice cream, Lavender Honey ice cream, and we are always open to any requests that you may have. Because this is an additional upgraded option, this offering comes with our full Espresso Bar, which means that the options that your guests are able to order are virtually limitless. We have options like the Affogato (Espresso over Ice Cream), Cold Brew Float, Mocha Float, Latte Float, any Signature Flavored Latte Float, and anything else that you or your guests may think of. We can even drizzle any flavored syrup or sauce over the guests ice cream.

We do have other upgrades that we offer that can expand your menu even further with drinks by themselves or ice cream mixtures. We offer an upgrade that is our Tea Bar upgrade, bringing quality cold brewed tea and hot brewed tea can really make sure that there is something available for everyone at your wedding or event. BARTENDERS FOR EVENTS

When planning an event, wedding, or convention, things you often look for are first, the Venue. Where are you planning on hosting your event or convention, find a venue that fits your event’s needs. Does the venue have enough space for all of the vendors and guests? Do they have the right location? Do they have access to enough electricity to power everything? Are there enough bathrooms to make it comfortable for everyone there? Next thing you look for is a company that can help you accomplish everything you want to do with this event and to make sure that the event runs smoothly. Next thing you look for are caterers.

WEDDING AND EVENT PLANNERS/ COORDINATORS

Working with a great event planner or wedding coordinator who really knows what they are doing is key for anybody looking to have a successful wedding, event, or conference/ convention. With an event planner, you can have a really easy and successful event or you can have a stressful one where you’re being called to put out all of the fires, as an event host that is not something that you want. A great event planner or wedding coordinator is someone that will ensure that all of your feasible needs are taken care of first and foremost, then the planner/ coordinator will ensure that each vendors requirements and needs are planned for and addressed. Lastly, the planner/ coordinator will account for the weather and will make the necessary backup plans in the event that the weather does not want to cooperate.

We have been to weddings where the planner didn’t plan for rain with an outdoor wedding and reception during the rainy season and where the weatherserve forecast said that there was a chance of rain. With this wedding, the planner was running to the bride and groom asking them what to do because we can’t serve under the rain with out expensive equipment. I’ve had other weddings where our electricity needs weren’t addressed, so when we arrived, they had to scramble to try to find a location where we can plug into and I’ve had events where the event coordinator didn’t put us near a venue trash can so every person at the wedding was throwing away all of their trash, including dirty diapers, plates, etc making our trash cans overflow and look bad.

Our advice to everyone out there is to make sure that you ask your potential planner/ coordinator about how they handle each of these situations. Make sure that they are communicating to the venue and vendors prior to the wedding or event and make sure that they have enough staff to be able to help the vendors and to help you, the host, so that there are no hiccups that you are aware of during the event.

We started Rugged Coffee in Orange County, so we have served all over the Orange County area. From the deep south Orange County of San Clemente to northern Orange County of Fullerton and everywhere in between. Anaheim is a favorite for us to serve at and so the Anaheim Convention Center is somewhere we would love to serve at. We have served many times at the San Diego Convention Center, but never have we served at the Anaheim Convention Center, but we hope to this year with Hitachi Energy in their booth.

We have many years of experience serving at the San Diego Convention Center while serving our delicious coffee to an audience of 10,000+ guests for the Hitachi Energy center booth. We have served for large companies like Oakley Corp., Fox Racing Corp., Lincoln, Levi Strauss, Taylormade Golf, Standard Chartered, and we consistently serve backstage at the Honda Center, and the House of Blues Anaheim, as well as, The Terranea Resort. At the Distributech International convention at the San Diego Convention Center, we had a coffee cart set up at the Hitchi Energy booth (which was the main center attraction booth) and we were also set up at the ABB booth serving delicious coffee to the masses out of 2 separate locations of these sister companies. Because we were at the main booths of the convention, we were busy nonstop all day.

Another convention that we served at was the AFP convention where all of the top banks were at showcasing their companies. At this convention we weren’t at the center main booth, but after just a little bit of time there, we were serving the guests like we were the main booth because once people find out about how delicious our coffee is, guests will flock to us no matter what.

What sets us apart from the other coffee bars is our experience in the catering industry and our quality. We’ve been catering coffee for 8 years and that time in the industry has really shown us what we need for each event, questions to ask (such as about backup plans when the weather is rainy, trash policy, etc.), and how to prepare for the worst at each event so that even when the worst happens, we are still ok. One thing that we have seen many times is that a lot of wedding planners and event coordinators like to think that the weather in Southern California is always going to be perfect, but when you have an outdoor event or wedding, you still need to pay attention to the weather and have a backup plan if it starts raining. It is always the worst when there is no plan and we cant serve because our machinery can’t get wet or the bride and groom or event host is having to solve the problems that the coordinator or planner didn’t plan for. Another issue that we see a lot is that the venue has a strict policy that the caterer has to remove their trash from the premises when they leave, but the planner and venue doesn’t provide enough trash cans so we end up with over flowing trash bins (which doesn’t look nice at all). So we always make sure that there is another trash bin provided for the rest of the event located near our station to avoid that distasteful look. Lastly, because we have been in the industry for so long, we know what time we need to arrive at to successfully setup for a smooth service and how much time we need to tear down so we don’t run up extra costs to you (the host) that the venue sometimes charges for vendors that leave late.

Rugged Coffee is a coffee catering company based out of the Inland Empire, so venues like the Ontario Convention, the Ontario Toyota Arena, the Cal-Aero Aviation Club, Fairview Green River, the Farm in Norco, the Eastvale Silverlakes, the DoubleTree by Hilton, Hampton Inn, and the Holiday Inn are all of our favorite spots to serve out of. We like to bring class and quality with us, elevating any event that we serve at.

Not only do we like to work out of the Inland Empire, but we are also preferred vendors out of some of the most prestigious hotels and resorts, such as, the Terranea in Ranchos Palos Verdes. This is a very high-end venue that we are extremely proud of being a preferred vendor at because it just shows how much class and quality that we bring to the table. Serving at the Terranea takes some time getting used to because of how large the venue is, but now that we’ve got a few services there under our belt, we know exactly what to do to.

Another venue that we really enjoy serving at is the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego. This venue has everything that you would need to create a successful experience for your conference or convention. They are extremely accommodating for the vendors, the attendees, and the hosts. Plus this hotel is centrally located in the heart of all of the action in San Diego.

A venue that we are a preferred vendor at in Orange County is the Honda Center (previously called the Pond). This venue is extremely large, so you can hold very large gatherings such as concerts & conventions. This venue has everything that you would need for your gathering, so creating a successful event is a breeze. We travel all over Southern California, so getting delicious coffee at your event has never been easier.

MARRIOTT MARQUIS: SAN DIEGO

Serving at the Marriott Marquis in San Diego, California on the Marina is a beautiful location for all your special corporate events and conferences. We’ve had the pleasure of getting to serve there a couple of times and each time was perfectly smooth and the staff was extremely helpful. At the hotel, they have a large convention style space just down a set of stairs upon entering the hotel that we served at for a huge convention for doctors and lawyers. When serving at this conference/convention, we started serving nonstop at that location where the bulk of the conference was located and all of the booths were set up. Halfway through the second day, we were told to move our station upstairs just outside another conference room, which was extremely easy and quick. The hotel staff there were very helpful and everything that we needed was right within walking distance. Once we moved upstairs, we found another large space with plenty of electricity for us to plug into and pick up where we left off.

The second time that we served there, we served at a different space to the right side of the hotel just outside of another conference room. We were located in a very large hallway space with a ton of other vendors. When we got there, the electricity plug ins weren’t at our location, but in no time their electricity technician was there to fix this problem for us and route a line of electricity for us to plug into.

The loading dock is very large, easy to load up and out your equipment. The back hallways and doors are large and easy to maneuver through to get to where you need to set up at. Parking is located underneath in their underground parking lot, and getting that validated is no trouble at all. Overall, we would say that serving at this San Diego hotel venue is very easy, smooth, the staff is very friendly and this is a place that we would happily serve at again.

JW MARRIOTT - ANAHEIM, CA

We had the great privilege of getting to serve at the beautiful JW Marriott the other day for an event put on by our friends over at Nth Generation. Nth generation is a company that provides technology solutions to their corporate clients and the event that we served at for them was a conference for all of their nationwide employees.

JW Marriott is a beautiful hotel that has an immaculate and secluded conference center. We were able to serve right outside of the conference room where they had power dropped and ready for us to use. The hotel staff was nice and friendly and super helpful making our jobs that much easier.

We got to serve our delicious homemade Chai Latte (which was the fan favorite that day), our seasonal (but not seasonal) Pumpkin Pie latte, and our Vanilla Latte as the flavor choices for that day. On top of the flavors, we had our staples on the menu, which are the Mocha Latte, Latte, Cappuccino, Macchiato, Espresso, Americano, Hot Brewed Coffee, Cold Brewed Coffee, and our Hot Cocoa, while being able to serve them all either hot or iced and with either whole milk or oat milk. The coffee that we used was from our friends over at Portola Coffee Roasters in Costa Mesa, California. The coffee was from Colombia and was a Carbonic Maceration process, which to my surprise was an amazingly bright and exciting coffee. The really amazing thing about us is that we have so many ways to customize your experience. You, as the event host, get the option to choose the 3 Signature Flavored latte’s that we serve your guests, and you get to choose the coffee that you want us to serve. You can choose out of our list of Specialty Coffee Roasters and/or you can choose the region that you want your coffee from and/or you can choose the flavor that you would like the coffee to be.

ICE CREAM CATERING

Rugged Coffee is a specialty catering company. We mainly offer some of the best coffee you’ve ever had, but we also have upgrades that you can attach to our coffee catering Espresso Bar. Some of the upgrades that we offer include the Tea Bar upgrade where we use only the finest tea leaves, sourced from Rishi Tea. We offer 2 types of hot brewed tea to serve at your event and we also offer 2 cold brewed tea’s to serve at your event. The tea list that you get to choose from is:

  • Jasmine (green)

  • Earl Grey (black

  • Wild Thai (black)

  • Organic Pu' erh (black)

  • Bao Zhong Oolong Tea (Oolong)

  • Tangerine Ginger (herbal)

Not only do we offer a Tea Bar upgrade, but we also offer our Homemade Specialty Ice Cream Bar. We only offer products with the highest quality so we cut no corners to make our ice cream the best it can be. With our Ice Cream Bar addition you get to choose 3 that we serve at your event from the following list:

  • Vanilla ice cream

  • Chocolate ice cream

  • Lavender Honey ice cream

  • Cookies and Cream ice cream

  • Caramel ice cream

  • Matcha ice cream

With this upgrade, your guests get the ability to have just a bowl or normal ice cream, but also they can combine it with coffee to make drinks like an Affogato, Cold Brew Float, Mocha Float, Latte Float, and pretty much any other coffee drink that you can put over ice cream to make a float. The possibilities are almost endless.

Our Hot Cocoa bar comes as an addition to our Espresso Bar and it a bar where we set up little goodies for people to top their hot cocoa with, a fan favorite especially around the Christmas Season. Your guests can top their drinks with items like Crushed Oreo’s, Marshmallows, m&m’s, Candy Canes, Homemade Chocolate Sauce, Homemade Caramel Sauce, and Whipped Cream.

Lastly, we offer specialty freshly baked local pastries. Our pastries are baked locally at Eastbrew Cafe in Eastvale California. The pastries that we offer to pair with your coffee and espresso bar catering are as follows:

INTERCONTINENTAL SAN DIEGO HOTEL

San Diego is a city that we love serving in. There are so many hotels and venues to host your event, conference, convention, or any other corporate gathering at. We have served all throughout a ton of the major hotels and venues, such as, the Marriott Marquis, Manchester Grand Hyatt, and the San Diego Convention Center.

Each hotel listed above, from a vendor’s perspective, is super easy to work with, the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful, and loading-in and out of the hotel is a breeze. The last time we served at the Marriott Marquis in San Diego, we served on the 2nd floor out front of their conference room. Where we were at, there wasn’t enough electricity, so the electrician from the hotel quickly and easily routed us a new line of electricity to power our equipment off of. When we served at the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego, we served first on the first floor in their giant conference room, then half way through the 2nd day, the host of the event wanted us to move our station to the 2nd floor and serve out front of another large room. Moving our service was easy and electricity was everywhere so we had no problem plugging in and serving at either location. The San Diego Convention Center was a nice place to serve and their staff load everything in for you, making that part easy.

We will be serving next week at the Hotel Del Coronado for an event with Splenda. Hotel Del Coronado is right on the beach in Coronado, so not only is the scenery beautiful, but take a step inside and you’ll be surrounded by an interior that is upscale and dazzling. We are so excited to serve there.

The hotel that we would really love to serve at next is the Intercontinental San Diego. As we got to visit that hotel while attending a conference ourselves, we couldn’t help but see how beautiful the hotel is and how responsive the staff was which makes us curious about serving at a place this nice. We hope that we will see you there at your next conference!

TURNING POINT USA: PASTOR'S SUMMIT

Turning Point USA is a fantastic non-profit organization out of Phoenix Arizona that is all about spreading 2 fundamental truths across the nation. That is that Jesus Christ is king of all and that the United States of America is a nation that has been blessed by God because of our Christian founding and because of that we have alleviated more people worldwide out of poverty by our charity work, that we have been a beacon for freedom across the world and that, despite what some in the media like to say, we are not in fact a racist country. The organization believes in Freedom, in Limited Government, and Free Markets in America.

We are blessed with the opportunity to be able to provide 50 bottles of our Cold Brew for the speakers of the upcoming Pastor’s Summit 2023 in San Diego on September 13 - 15 and we hope to do many more events with them moving forward. AmericaFest 2023 is an event that we are really hoping to be apart, and will keep you posted on how that turns out.

Rugged Coffee is a coffee catering company that is rooted in the Grace that was given to us freely by the works and sacrifice of Jesus Christ and we think that America is a country of exceptionalism and greatness, so teaming up with Turning Point USA is a no brainer for us because our values align perfectly. THE OCEAN INSTITUTE: DANA POINT

Catering at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point is one of our favorite things to do. The last time we were there it was for a huge 5 hour party that was indoor and outdoor. There was a bar serving free cocktails, a stand giving out free cigars, dessert tables, oysters being shucked, and of course our delicious coffee being served. We not only served delicious coffee there, but we also created a Cold Brew Old Fashioned, where we mixed bourbon, cold brew concentrate, bitters, and our homemade vanilla syrup. The drink was a huge hit. Serving there again, we will be serving 3 separate events over the course of 2 days along with another event at the Honda Center in between.

Serving at the Honda Center this month, we will be catering their Anniversary party with Gwen Stefani, then 2 concerts a week later for Luis Miguel, and for Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie. This coming month is going to be epic.

Back to the Ocean Institute… This is a venue that is our preferred client/ venue, with the beautiful scenery and friendly staff, you cant ask for anything better. This venue is located in the Bay at Dana Point, so you get to smell the lovely ocean smells, and see the beautiful ocean, but watch out for the seagulls. Even though we haven’t had any run-ins with them, they are still there.

What more can you ask for in a venue? You can spend your morning and early afternoon at the beach, soaking up the sun, and then walk over to the Ocean Institute in the evening to host your party at.
